Two-year guarantee
Longer than our plumbing and parts guarantee, because we stand behind the preparation and setting out as much as the finish.
Level lines, tight grout joints and cuts that land where they should — tiling set out properly onto a sound, waterproofed substrate, priced up front and guaranteed for two years.

Tiling is the most visible part of a bathroom or kitchen, and it is the part people run their eye along for the next fifteen years. What separates good tiling from adequate tiling is not the tile you buy — it is what sits behind it and how it is set out. A sound, flat, correctly prepared substrate, a datum that keeps every course level, and a layout that puts the awkward cut in the corner behind the door rather than beside the mirror.
Four Seasons Bathrooms has its own tiler, and his work is one of the things customers name specifically in our Checkatrade reviews. Tiling carries a two-year guarantee, which is longer than the one-year guarantee on plumbing and parts, because we are willing to stand behind the setting out and the preparation as well as the finish.
We tile as part of full bathroom and kitchen installations, and as standalone work where a room needs re-tiling but the plumbing is sound. Standalone tiling is quoted at a fixed price after we have seen the walls or floor, because condition of the substrate is the single biggest variable. Quotes are free, and we work supply-and-fit or labour-only if you have already bought your tiles.
Get my fixed-price quoteTiling planned alongside the tanking, the tray and the sanitaryware positions, so the setting out suits the finished room rather than fighting it.
Cracked grout, hollow or loose tiles, blown corners and stained sealant lines — usually a symptom of substrate or movement rather than the tile itself.
Splashbacks, upstands and full-height tiling behind hobs, plus durable floor tiling that will take kitchen traffic.
Labour-only tiling of tiles you have already chosen, with an honest word first if the format or finish will not suit the room.
Failed tiling is rarely just cosmetic. Cracked grout and split sealant lines are open routes for water to get behind the tile, where it soaks into board, plaster and timber. In a shower area, that water carries on into the floor void or the wall cavity and produces the damp patch on the ceiling below months later. What began as a hairline crack ends as a strip-out.
Hollow-sounding and lifting tiles almost always come from insufficient adhesive coverage, an unprimed or dusty substrate, or movement in the background that the tiling was never designed to accommodate. Once a few tiles debond, the ones around them follow, and the fix is not one tile: it is a section, and matching a discontinued tile is usually impossible. Tiling over existing tiles or over unsound plaster to save a day transfers every one of those defects to the new surface.
Then there is the finish itself, which you look at every single day. Courses that drift out of level, cuts of two different widths on either side of a wall, grout lines that change width across the room and a slither cut beside the most visible corner cannot be repaired without taking the wall off. Setting out is a decision made in the first hour of the job and it determines what the room looks like permanently.
01
We look at the walls and floor, check flatness and soundness, and identify what has to be removed, boarded, tanked or made good before any tiling is priced.
02
Format, layout, grout colour and where the cuts will land are agreed before work starts, along with a fixed price, supply-and-fit or labour-only.
03
Old tiling removed, substrate made flat and sound, tile backer board fitted to wet areas and a tanking membrane applied with reinforced corners and pipe penetrations.
04
Tiling set out from a level datum with the correct adhesive and coverage for the tile format, cuts made cleanly and edges finished with trim or mitre as specified.
05
Grout appropriate to the joint width and location, flexible sealant to every movement junction, then the whole surface cleaned and checked with you. Two-year guarantee on the tiling.
Longer than our plumbing and parts guarantee, because we stand behind the preparation and setting out as much as the finish.
Cuts placed where the eye does not go, courses level across the room, and grout lines that stay a consistent width.
Unsound backgrounds are made good and wet areas tanked, which is what stops water getting behind the tile in the first place.
Bed, adhesive type and grout matched to the tile format and the location, so large-format porcelain and natural stone behave as they should.
Reviewers on Checkatrade have specifically singled out the tiling as top notch. The reviews are public and you can read them before booking.
Because the plumbing and electrics are ours too, the tiler starts when the room is genuinely ready rather than working around unfinished trades.
Different tiles behave differently and need different preparation. These are the main variations we handle on jobs across Ampthill, Flitwick, Bedford, Luton and the surrounding towns.
Ceramic is lighter and easier to cut, and suits most wall applications. Porcelain is denser, harder-wearing and the usual choice for floors. Large-format tiles are unforgiving of uneven backgrounds and need a flat substrate, full adhesive coverage and often a levelling system during fixing to prevent lipping between tiles.
Natural stone needs sealing and, in some cases, a white adhesive to avoid staining through the tile. Mosaic and sheet formats are ideal for graded wet room floors and feature niches because they follow falls and curves, but the grout joint area is far higher, so grout choice matters more.
Dry walls can be tiled onto sound, primed plaster or plasterboard. Wet areas get tile backer board and a liquid tanking membrane with reinforcing tape at corners and pipe penetrations. Timber floors usually need overboarding or decoupling to control movement before floor tiles are laid.
Adhesive is selected for the tile type, substrate and whether the area is wet or heated. Grout is chosen for joint width, wet exposure and colour stability. Every junction that moves — wall to floor, around a tray or bath, internal corners — takes flexible sealant rather than grout, because that is where rigid material always cracks first.
Floor tiling over electric underfloor heating needs the right adhesive bed and careful protection of the mat and sensor. Levels are set so the finished floor meets doorways and thresholds cleanly, and falls are followed exactly where a wet room drain is involved.
Splashbacks, upstands and full-height tiling behind hobs are set out from the worktop line and the hob centre so the arrangement reads correctly. Junctions with the worktop are sealed flexibly, since worktops move slightly with load and temperature.
A handful of loose tiles on a sound wall can sometimes be re-fixed. Widespread hollow tiles, blown corners or a damp background mean the wall needs stripping and rebuilding. We will tell you which situation you are in rather than papering over a substrate that has already failed.
